Level Up: The Rise of Gaming in Eastern Partnership Region and Western Balkans | Round n’About

In early June 2024, the PowerPlay International Game Development Conference, organized by the Armenian Code Academy, took place in Yerevan, Armenia, in the frame of RECONOMY. The event provided a platform for industry leaders and innvoators from Armenia and the region to discuss the dynamics of game development and education in the digital age.

In this Round n’About video, we feature interviews with key figures like Anahit Sargsyan of the Armenian Code Academy, Milica Todorović from Ubisoft Belgrade, Aleksa Jeremic of Shosha Games, and Nenad Jovanovski from the Serbian Games Association. They share their thoughts on the role of major studios in regional game development and cross-regional collaborations; the challenges and strategies for game developers in smaller markets; and the importance of promoting gender equality within the game development sector.

One of RECONOMY’s projects focuses on digitalization of sectors with growth potential for better economic opportunities, which is implemented by Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe on behalf of Helvetas.
